I was born in the mid 1960’s in the North East of England in a fairly run down and poor area. Brought up with my grandmother until I was five I quickly learned how to fend for myself and enjoy the freedom and dangers of an industrial town in decline. Playing on the railway tracks of a goods yard at the bottom of our garden quickly taught me to respect trains! I moved to the South East of England for a couple of years and developed a strange mixed accent. I was shipped back up North to a middle class area of Middlesbrough and stayed there until my college days when I was moved out to Stokesley. College life at Marton College was pleasurable and memorable. After 3 years of further education studying Art and then later photography I headed back down South for work in London.
